My Social Conscience
A dance film by Lola van Rumpt in which climate change is shown from the perspective of the younger generation. The way they cope and acknowledge the issue and how there is power and hope in standing together. This project is a research in which was explored how theortical knowledge can be transformed into art. The question arose how clear the message needs to be to come across. With the film we have tried to approach a wider public who might not have any knowledge about dance or the subject of this film.

WE WERE ART
A concept by Ezme Hetharia inspired by Covid-19 in which artists felt like they were being overlooked or forgotten. Not being able to pursue our dreams and jobs and at the same time having so much going on what needed to be expressed. This project was born during the end of Covid-19 in which we were searching more and more for the attention and opportunity to be seen.

Meervaart Danslab
As part of the talent development program of Meervaart Studio I made a solo based on the style of choreographer Denden Karadeniz. He combines breakdance with contemporary dance and capturing his movement quality was the main focus during the creating process of the solo.

Blurry Days
A short experimental video about the pressure of evolving and the focus on growth which is inescapable in society at the moment. The concept of growth is in essence a good start but not when it feels pressured by the outside. By using this huge space in contrast to the individual you can feel the tension rising and the effort to be bigger than oneself is starting to fade when the dancer is shown as a person, and not just a figure which can't fill up the space yet.

A performance in which connection through a common loss is explored and the longing for what is left behind is expressed. They are on a journey of moving forward and at the same time processing the feelings that pull them back.

Bursting Clouds
Bursting Clouds is an invitation for the audience to look further than the outer layer of storm, but to truly embrace it. The dancers surrender themselves to the experience of storm in all it's rawness, beauty and chaos. Bursting Clouds is an interdisciplinary contemporary dance duet, incorporating text as well as being codependent on the composition of nature sounds created by Baz Laarakkers.
